Year 1 were finding out which animals were carnivores, herbivores or omnivores. The investigated different types of animal poo to sort the animals into the correct group!
What material would be the best for a child's trousers? Year 2 picked a variety of materials to see which would be the most hard wearing for a child to wear. They rubbed them on the playground floor to see how long they would take to wear out.
Year 3 were investigating how light allows us to see. They hid 5 items underneath a cardboard box and investigated how many holes were needed to make in the box (using a pencil) until they had enough light to see the objects inside when we peered in.
Year 3 were investigating the strength of different types of magnet by seeing how many paper clips it could hold without them falling off. They were surprised that the biggest magnet (horseshoe) wasn't actually the strongest!
Year 6 created blood today! They used: yellow food colouring and water for the plasma; rice cripsies, dyed red by red food colouring, for the red blood cells; white paper for the white blood cells and pink paper for the platelets.
