Learning in Spring term

Writing.

This term in writing we will be starting with a character description of young Finn from the book 'Song of a Dolphin Boy'. We have chosen this book as it is related to our topic of wild waters.

Maths.
This term in maths we will be starting with addition and subtraction of fractions. We will then be moving on to multiplication and division where the children will learn key strategies to help them in their learning.

Science.
For the whole of Spring term the children will be learning about space. Beginning with our solar system, the eight planets, their size and speed of travel. We will be finding out lots of exciting facts, that they can hopefully bring home to you!
Immersive Day Spring 1 - 2023

Wild Waters. Our topic this term is called Wild Waters. The children will be learning all about the water ways and water systems in the UK and further afield in North America. They will also be finding out about many different rivers and how the structure of a river changes over its course. In February the children will also be going on a school trip to see a water way/system live in action.  To get the children ready and excited for our new topic, we had a whole day of amazing activities including, raft building, sand-bag investigation, river artwork and even an escape room! Here are some pictures from the day:
