School Trip Herd Farm

Year 3 had a fantastic day out at Herd Farm. They learnt all about the Stone, Bronze and Iron Age. They threw spears to experience hunting for food, sat in roundhouses, learnt all about the tools and weapons used and learnt how to start a fire from flint. Homework
Weekly maths homework is provided for the children.  We also encourage the children to practice their times tables everyday at home.  Every child has access to TT Rockstars to allow for extra practice. 
The children also have a #littlethings for their new topic of The Stone Age.
 
Learning in Summer Term

This term, our topic is called 'Through the Ages'.

Throughout the topic, we are going to taking a journey through time. Starting at the Stone Age and finishing at the Iron Age. We are going to immerse ourselves in the lives of a Stone Age person, learning about their ways of living, farming and much more!

English
This term, Year 3 are going to be completing a range of writing units, this includes designing a comic strip inspired by the book 'Ug'; a narrative based of the book 'The Stone Age Boy' and much more!
Maths
The children will be focusing on Mass and Capacity at the start of the term. We will then continue onto learning about Fractions. Before moving on to Time, Money and Shape later in the term.
Science 
The children will be continuing to learn about Animals including Humans.

Immersive Learning Day

Year 3 had their immersive learning day for their new topic Through the Ages. Throughout the day year 3; - Created a fire display with questions they wanted to ask - Looked at Stone Age artefacts and weapons - Dissected Stone Age poo to find out what they ate - Created their own Stone Age cave art Well done year 3!
