Year 2 had a visit from the food company Birds Eye, they talked to the children about their different job roles. The children then worked in small groups to look at what makes a balanced meal.
The children took on the role of a Victorian child, they chanted their times tables, took part in drills, ate gruel, sang the National Anthem and walked with a book on their heads! In the afternoon we made some tractional Victorian toys.

As part of DT the children are set to make a toy garage and will finish with a Victorian tea party where they will make a Victorian Sponge cake.
The first part of the half term children will create their own comic strips, we can’t wait to share these with you. We will then move onto poetry and finishing with character descriptions.
The children will continue to develop their understanding of number through place value before progressing onto addition and subtraction.
