Welcome to our final term in Reception class; We have 2 new exciting topics to learn about. 


Summer 1 - The Great Outdoors
Keybooks: Mad about Minibeasts, The Very Hungry Caterpillar,  The very Busy Spider, What the Ladybird Heard, Olivers's Vegetables, Farmer Duck, Pig in the Pond and a range of Non-Fiction books.

Summer 2 - Past and Present
Keybooks: Dogger, Brown Bear, Too many Toys, Lost in the Toy Museum,  The Toymaker, Peepo,  My Great Grandpa.

On the 17th May 2022, we will be going on our class trip to Hesketh Farm.

The day comprises of the following activities:

Weighing, mixing and preparing either the lamb or calf milk and then feeding them.

Having a tractor ride with Farmer Chris, including question and answer session.

Taking a paddock walk – discussing trees, animal homes, animals in the paddock.

Going egg collecting – counting them, opening an egg and looking at the contents, followed by handling baby chicks.
Looking at the pigs and piglets.

Guinea pig cuddling.

Minibeast Hunt

We had lots of fun searching for Minibeasts in the our school garden. The children enjoyed recording their findings throughout the activity.

Marvellous Maths

This week in our Magic Maths, we have been consolidating the key skills; subitising, counting forwards and backwards and composition. In our practical maths lessons, we have been encouraging children to build and identify numbers to 20, using a range of resources.
