This year at Ireland Wood we have swapped our languages curriculum from French to Spanish. So for European Day of Languages we decided to focus on the country of Spain! All children across school completed a range of fun activities including: - completing the register in Spanish - researching facts about Spain such as famous foods and weather - learnt how many countries across the world spoke Spanish as their main language

We watched a traditional Spanish dance performed in Spain called the Flamenco. Children listened to the sounds they could hear within the performance and how the dancers used their hands and feet to change the tempo, rhythm and volume of the piece. We then performed a piece of music with body percussion and boom whackers using the Flamenco dance as inspiration.
