Today we went back in time to a Victorian school. We did the three 'R's' - Reading, Writing and Arithmetic, which we had to complete using chalk! We chanted a poem and our times tables. Outside we played Victorian games such as skipping, jacks, follow the leader and football. The teacher's were very strict and some of us even had to wear the D hat! We ended the day with a yummy slice of Victoria sponge.

Today we had fun pretending to be in a Victorian classroom. We had Reading, Writing and Arithmetic lessons and finished our day with a slice of Victoria Sponge!

Today we learnt about Victorian clothing. We learnt about the materials the clothes would be made of, the colours that would be used and the style. We know that girls only wore skirts and boys wore trousers or shorts, that they wore dull colours but their clothes were very smart. We used the information we had learnt to make our own Victorian outfits.

In Science we have been learning about plants. Today we went on a plant hunt to see what plants we could find in our playground.

During Lockdown we designed toy puppets. Since our return to school we thought about and reviewed our designs. We also thought about what materials to use and why. On Friday we had an exciting day sewing the puppets. Today we used eyes and buttons to decorate our puppets. Are you impressed?

Today we started our new topic. This term we will be learning about the Victorians and Toys. We had a lovely day sketching and painting a teddy bear. We also made a basket so that we could share our picnic with our teddy bears from home.

Today we all brought our favourite teddies into school. We drew and painted them and even had a teddy bears picnic with them. We made teddy collages to decorate the classroom too!

Today we made 2D shapes to see how much we remembered from out online lessons! We knew the names and properties of 2D shapes and had fun making and discussing the 2D shapes.

We had a lovely first day back at school. This afternoon we enjoyed a wonderful Mindfulness Scavenger Hunt.
