Hello and welcome to our Y6 blog. This is our final ever week at Primary School, so we thought we would blog about it and show what goes on in the last week of school. We hope you enjoy reading our blog.
RIP Old Work

Time for transition. Mrs Urch is busy taking the old work off the wall and making the walls ready for September and the new work that the year 5’s are going to do.   R.I.P Old Y6 Work  

Feelings

Hello I am going to be showing you things about me leaving primary school. I will be including my feelings towards leaving Ireland wood. SAD TO LEAVE I will be sad to leave because I have spent over half of my life here (7 years). I will also miss all the teachers that have taught me. Leaving our siblings will also be hard as they will no longer be able to come to see us when they are worried about something. NERVOUS (HIGH SCHOOL) I am nervous about getting lost as I got lost on the transition day with my friend. And being around the older children. I am also worried about being bullied by other children. And am feeling the nerves of going to a new place where I am not very familiar of. EXCITED (HIGH SCHOOL) I am excited to make new friends as I have already made many. And exploding things in science. I will also look forward to having more responsibilities. And being older.

Mrs Amos

Mrs Amos has worked really hard for us this year and is making our last week of school really fun. We have had a great year and learnt a lot from her hard work. She has been a kind teacher. She has made plenty of fun lessons and has made an unforgettable year. Zanna , Josh and Chelsey

PE

Welcome to our Year 6 blog! In this blog we will be telling you about P.E over the last week. First of all, one of the pictures down below is the picture of the hall (it’s also known as the South Hall). This hall is where all the balls and equipment for P.E are stored. The gym frame is also located in this hall. P.E, regularly it is taught by Miss O’Brien but sometime it is instructed by another member of staff. One of the main activities Year 6’s had this year was rounders a lot of them enjoy doing dodgeball though.

Mr Blackburn

Mr Blackburn (who is our head teacher) has been hard at work making sure that we are successful in year 6 . He over sees all the jobs at school. He also makes sure all his students have the best possible education. He has been our head teacher for many years. The school would not be how it is without him.

Mr Connelly

Mr Connelly is the best teacher and we are very sad that he is leaving Ireland Wood Primary School. At the moment he teaches year 2 but he taught us in year 5 . We remember when he made up scary tales about an abandoned house/pub and Kaden couldn’t sleep that night (only joking!). We also remember in year 5 when he always wore a tie to match his pencil case. Maddie made Mr Connelly a stocking for Christmas and put chocolate in it. Maddie, Albert and Kaden

Mrs Ajayi

Mrs Ajayi teachers in Reception but in the past she has taught in Y6 , Y5 and Y4. She is a very kind person and always helps us every time we needed her. We are very sad to leave her and wish she could come with us to high school. We will miss you. Lily and Rhiannon

Getting ready for High School

In Year 6 we are getting ready for high school. We have done our SATs, took part in our transition days and met new teachers/students. We have been preparing for this week for 7 years (our entire school life). Some of us are confident, some nervous, but all of us ready. Joe, Yaseen and Adam

#Leavers

This week has changed and things are changing. We are close to the leaver’s assembly. We are content to go to High School, as we’ll get new responsibilities and new friends. The leaver’s storyline is sick! It is also top secret, so we can’t reveal it. Also, new things are coming in for us, like hoodies and the disco, which will be fun. #LEAVERS!

New Stock

Miss Hogarth has spent hours on getting the stock in the North hall. There is lots of paper piles and lots of hard work put in there. There are new books, pens, pencils, planners, glue sticks, rulers, diaries and much more all ready for September. Teachers are very excited about their new stationery delivery. Ghazi and Dihan
