Healthy, Happy, Fun!

Last week we had two health and safety days in school. The children learnt all about how to keep themselves safe, healthy and happy. We all had a go at walking over the zebra crossing in the school car park, talked about what to do if we ever got lost, and made healthy fruit kebabs. They were delicious!

St Leonard's Farm trip!
This half term the children are enjoying learning all about animals and are taking on the role of a vet and pet owner in our 'Vet role play' area. They are enjoying the writing opportunities such as making appointments, writing out bills from the vet and drawing and labelling their own pet. Our key text has been Six Dinner Sid and the children have listened to and discussed the text in detail. They have made lists of the foods Sid has eaten, talked about the events on each page and are now writing sentences about the story.

In maths, we have moved on to looking at teen numbers, working on ordering and recalling one more and one less. We are also recapping addition and subtraction facts to 10.

we are looking forward to an exciting week ahead! Brian the dog will be visiting later in the week and we look forward to finding out some information about him. We are talking about and preparing for our trip to St Leonard's Farm on Friday where the children will have the opportunity to handle some baby farm animals.
Look out for a selection of photographs from our trip!
